Seeking God as a Way of Life
St Benedict asks of one wishing to enter the monastery whether that person ‘truly seeks God’.
That is what we are about as monks, and our authenticity rest on our faithfulness to this search.
Our life is about consciously seeking The Mystery of God in the ordinary and every day aspects of life.
This seeking is not to suggest that God is not always and everywhere present but rather that our ability to see and respond to this presence is the vocation.
The acceptance of our own brokenness, our own ordinariness is where we encounter the
Mystery that is God.
