We are a Cistercian Community of eleven monks. Each one of us has responded to a particular call which has united us all around the person of Jesus Christ and his Gospel. We believe and know that we are sinners first, but the Holy Spirit is guiding us and purifying us in the likeness of Jesus Christ whom we follow ardently. We know and believe also that a monastic community like ours, which lives deep in the heart of the Church, is not primarily a man-made community but rather a community which is convoked by God. Through our reflections on the Gospels we realize how important constant and on-going forgiveness is for the life of the whole community, and indeed for each one of us personally.
We also understand our community as, not something static but rather, open to the many retreatants, visitors, poor and broken that call to our door. By sharing in our community life in some small way they are often deeply touched and healed by the presence of Christ in our midst. But more importantly these many visitors bring Christ himself to our door which is why hospitality is such an important reality for us.
